Work

I build
businesses

Today that means selling, building and growing at the same time, in small teams where those are one job. I got here by way of hands-on technology, then more than a decade in sales and leading sales teams.

What I like working on now

  • Taking a new product from its first customers to something that sells and grows.
  • Being the person between the customer and the software, who can also change the software when it falls short.
  • Building the tools and data that let a small team run like a bigger one.

How I got here

Chapter 2 · 2013–2026

Sales and management

The technical person in the room when a customer decides whether to buy. At AvePoint that grew into owning a product roadmap and then building and leading the solutions consulting team; at ServiceNow it meant large enterprise deals, lately in AI.

  • Four record quarters in a row, leading into a $200M Series C.
  • Rebuilt SOPs, the commission plan, work assignment and training, tripling department efficiency.
  • As VP, SC Alliances and Channels (2019–2020), led partner enablement globally; channel ARR grew 4.8x in 2019.

Chapter 3 · 2020–present

Building businesses

Business school and consulting for small businesses led to owning two of them: a bookstore and a habitat restoration company, where I sell, run operations and build the software they run on. Above the Treeline is the same kind of work: a 35-person company growing a product it launched in 2026.

Columbia Business School

2020–2021

MBA; Engagement Manager, Small Business Consulting Program

Pro bono consulting by MBA students for New York City small businesses. Also a mentor at the Almaworks Accelerator since 2020.

  • Led three consultants on a franchising growth strategy for Simba Hospitality Group, with a path to 100 franchises in 36 months.
  • Led five consultants on pricing and marketing for Belle Fleur, a direct-to-consumer subscription service; the new pricing and shipping model was projected to grow revenue 50%.

All My Friends Books

2024–present

Co-owner and Technology Director

Independent bookstore in Cortland, NY; second location in Skaneateles, NY opened July 2026.

  • Built the full stack: public website, staff operations app, consignor portal, and a FastAPI data layer unifying point of sale, inventory and affiliate sales. Staff have been paperless since opening day.
  • Opened the second location a year after the first, on operations built to scale from the start.
  • Planned, built and sold a book subscription program that now brings in recurring revenue.

Meadowcraft Ecological Services

2025–present

Co-owner

Native-habitat restoration in upstate New York, run by the two of us.

  • Formed the business in 2025. In 2026, its first full year, we were certified by the New York State DEC, won several clients and became a revenue-generating business.
  • Find and win the clients: a GIS pipeline that found 8,517 qualified landowner prospects across three counties feeds a targeted direct-mail campaign, and I run the sales conversations.
  • Built the full stack, as at All My Friends Books but sized for two people: the public website, a data layer, and internal tools including a seed-mix pricing tool that compares five vendors across 300 species.

Above the Treeline

2026–present

Operational Solutions Engineer

A 35-person company. Edelweiss Omnibus, launched in 2026, is the platform bookstores, publishers and distributors use for catalogs, ordering and analytics.

  • Selling, building and growing a new product: take bookstores, publishers and distributors from evaluation through implementation and adoption.
  • Turn what customers run into into shipped product, built with AI-assisted development, favoring changes that help every customer over one-off customizations.
  • Build internal tools, reports and automations, the same kind of work I do for All My Friends Books and Meadowcraft.
