Edmund’s art is about the internal; emotional, psychological processes. This is expressed in spontaneous representation. He is intrigued and influenced by psychology, especially the IFS school-of-thought about meta-cognition, which understands the personality as a family of many interacting parts. He feels that giving visual form to his parts brings a powerful resonance, not only for himself, but the viewer and their similar parts.
The core self is the solid part of this inner-family. It’s core attributes are creativity, empathy and curiosity. These are also the attributes Edmund believes we should bring to an artistic environment. He hopes the viewer, in this state, will be confronted by his work, up to challenging their own psychological parts.
I am an artist and I also enjoy going to as many art events in Chicago as possible. No matter where I go, I always find an artists or two who I really enjoy. This blog is about sharing the best artists I find and as well as the artwork I create.
